Bulguksa Temple

Bulguksa

Bulguksa Temple is one of the "must see" attractions and for good reason. This temple was built in 528, a year after the Silla Dynasty officially accepted Buddhism. Of course, like most temples, it is made of many sections and, being primarily wood, it was susceptible to fire. As a result, it has been added to and rebuilt for the last 1500 years.

Fish Gong

This is Gok-eo, apparently a gong or bell. It was originally used to summon the monks. Now it is a Dharma tool which delivers the Buddha dharma to all beings in the water.

Da-bo-tap

The Multi-jeweled Pagoda (Da-bo-tap) or the Pagoda of Many Treasures. The four sides symbolize the Four Noble Truths. The 10 steps on each side of the pagoda symbolize the forty practices of Buddhism.
